Agricultural use
Manganese sulfate is used in micronutrient fertilisers, NPK formulations and programmes designed to correct manganese deficiency. In calcareous or alkaline soils, foliar application or use alongside acidifying fertilisers can improve availability.
Recognise the deficiency
Interveinal yellowing on young leaves, slower growth and reduced crop quality are common signs; soil or tissue analysis gives a more reliable diagnosis.
Choose the application route
Manganese sulfate can be used in granular fertilisers, soluble formulations, fertigation and foliar products. Crop, soil pH and deficiency level determine the final route.
Build it into a fertiliser formula
Solubility and particle uniformity matter to formulators. A small compatibility test helps prevent precipitation or unwanted tank reactions.
Measure the response
New growth, leaf colour and follow-up testing help refine the nutrition programme for the next crop or season.
