Sodium Bicarbonate for Food, Feed and Industry

NaHCO₃ — sodium bicarbonate / baking soda

MKT sodium bicarbonate is a free-flowing white powder with no noticeable odour. Its buffering action, controlled carbon-dioxide release and mild alkalinity support bakery, detergent, animal-feed, water-treatment and industrial formulations.

Buyer Questions

Questions buyers ask about MKT sodium bicarbonate

Is sodium bicarbonate the same as baking soda?

Yes. Baking soda and bicarbonate of soda are common names for NaHCO₃, which is sold in food, feed and industrial grades.

What purity appears on the MKT reference analysis?

The current sample analysis records at least 98% purity, no more than 0.5% sodium carbonate and no more than 0.1% sodium chloride.

How does food grade differ from industrial grade?

Food grade has tighter requirements for purity, heavy metals, production conditions and hygiene documentation; grade is selected by end use.

Is sodium bicarbonate used in animal feed?

Feed-grade sodium bicarbonate is used as a ration buffer and chlorine-free sodium source, particularly in dairy-cattle and poultry feed.
